The Master Therion I-Ching

Hexagram # 51

Hexagram 51.  Chén
The Arousing (Shock, Thunder)
KAN

Fire! Beware, but smile with mien b divine!
Let nothing scare thee into spilling wine!

Here's trouble; watch thy ways, but drink thy wine!
Take lofty ground: the tide will ebb and flow.
Distraught? May danger teach thee low to go!
Fight fire with fire, or sink in mud supine! c
Troubles mean profits for the men who know.
Caution! Foresee the action of the foe!

b mien: The original manuscript has "mein" surely a printing error for "mien", "an air," "the face of," "the look of," and "bearing."
c supine: "on the back," "laying."
